Oatmeal and Honey Acne Face Mask

Have you noticed pesky pimples on your skin lately? Or do you have scars that you want to get rid of left over from acne? If so, you’ll love this face mask.

As I always say, it’s important to know what ingredients are going on your skin and what those ingredients do in order to truly understand your skin care routine.

In this recipe we use Oats, Honey, Lemon and Tea Tree Essential Oil

Oats: Oats are great and contain anti-inflammatory properties as well as saponins which are cleansing agents. This makes oats great for all skin types, especially sensitive!

Honey: Honey is a fantastic antibacterial. It also naturally opens pores

Lemon: Lemon is a citrus that contains anti fungal properties to fight off acne and blackheads. It also contains anti bacterial properties. Lemon juice is known to help fade scars and cut down on too much oil in the face.

Tea Tree Essential Oil: I love tea tree. The smell, the healing properties. It’s known for it’s antiseptic abilities.

I use this Honey Oatmeal Acne Mask once to twice a week before bed. I leave it on for 10-20 minutes and then rinse off with cold water.

Honey Oatmeal Mask

4TB Ground Oats

1.5 TB Fresh Lemon Juice

4 TB Raw Honey

5 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil

1. Grind the oats – I like to use a coffee blender to get it nice and fine. This is a great investment if you’re serious about making your own beauty products.

2. Mix together the oats, lemon juice, tea tree oil and honey.

3. Take the mixture and apply it to your face in a medium thickness mask. Leave on for 10-20 minutes. Remove with cool water and a wash cloth.

This recipe will make enough for about 5 treatments. You can store the left over in an air tight container. Be careful to not get any water in the mixture or the water will decrease shelf life.
